The agenda for the council meeting will include the consideration of 15 nominations to the register. Properties on the agenda include a wide range of buildings, including three 19th- and early 20th-century residential districts, a commercial historic district, several individual commercial and industrial buildings, and a cemetery. In total, more than 450 properties are represented in the nominations. According to a news release from the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, a nomination amendment for Springfield's Commercial Street Historic District is among the others on the list. The Commercial Street Historic District was listed on the National Register in 1983.|ret||ret||tab|

Since that time, property owners have invested in the historic resources of the neighborhood to revive the historic character as well as economic viability of the district. The nomination is being amended to include a building that was originally considered a noncontributing resource due to modern alterations, but which has been returned to its historic appearance.|ret||ret||tab|

Another nomination is for the Old Hyde Park East and Old Hyde Park West historic districts in Kansas City. According to the release, those districts represent the transformation of Kansas City's rural farmland into urban residential development, made possible by the streetcar. In total, the two districts contain more than 350 residences constructed between 1887 and 1938. |ret||ret||tab|

The Augustus Sander House in Cole Camp dates from 1861 when it was constructed by or for a German immigrant. The single-pen house was expanded rearward to meet the changing needs of subsequent owners but there have been no significant alterations since about 1919. The Sander House is being nominated under Cole Camp's multiple property cover document, "Historic Resources of Cole Camp, Missouri." Architecture is the proposed area of significance in this nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.|ret||ret||tab|

The Coldwater Cemetery near Florissant is associated with early settlement and community development in St. Louis County. The land was donated by John Patterson. In 1806 a church was built on the site, and burials were reported on the site by 1809. The cemetery represents the pioneer families of the county and the social institutions that developed to serve the needs of these settlers. |ret||ret||tab|

Initially designed in 1897 by Julius Pitzman, Hampton Park is one of the oldest private residential subdivisions in St. Louis County. In 1913 the historic development became part of the municipality of Richmond Heights, one of the streetcar suburbs that ring the city limits of St. Louis. The district of 80 houses contains significant examples of popular architectural styles such as Tudor, French and Italian renaissance, craftsman and moderne. The architects who worked in Hampton Park also built the private streets of St. Louis and neighboring communities that have already been recognized by the National Register.|ret||ret||tab|

In addition to nominations to the register, the council also will receive status reports on programs provided by the State Historic Preservation Office, and discuss business related to its own function and duties. The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation is a 12-member group of historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens with an interest in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register program for Missouri. The council meets quarterly to review proposed Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.|ret||ret||tab|
