Springfield developer buys Joplin properties

Posted online
Springfield developer Scott Tillman recently purchased an apartment complex and three surrounding tracts in Joplin, according to The Joplin Globe.

The 111-year-old Olivia Apartment Complex has been vacant since 2006. At that time, the city of Joplin deemed it uninhabitable because it did not comply with fire and electrical codes. The building was put on the National Register of Historic Places two years later.

Tillman, owner of Tillman Redevelopment, said he does not yet have specific plans for redeveloping the property.

"I think this property is very, very important to the city of Joplin. It’s very pretty," he told The Joplin Globe. "We’re excited to be involved with it, but we don’t have a solid plan yet."
