Springfield City Clerk Brenda Cirtin has been named the 2012 Outstanding City Clerk by the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association, a statewide professional organization of municipal clerks and finance officers.
Mayor Pro Tem Bob Stephens also was in attendance at the early March ceremony, and he said it was an honor to be present for the award.
“As many of her municipal clerk colleagues expressed that night, this award is well-deserved and very timely, as she is soon to be installed as president of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, bringing even more positive publicity to our city,” Stephens said in a news release. Cirtin will become the president of the
IIMC board of directors in May.
The IIMC is a California-based professional nonprofit with more than 10,000 members representing municipalities in the U.S. and 15 other countries.
Cirtin has been a member of the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association since 1986, and she has held several positions, including president. Cirtin has served as Springfield city clerk since 1993, and she is a certified municipal clerk, master municipal clerk and Missouri professional city clerk, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
