Springfield Catholic Schools names new director

Amy DeMelo will begin July 1.

Meese in February announced she would retire from the school system at the end of the 2006-07 school year.

A search committee conducted a national search for Meese’s replacement and unanimously recommended DeMelo; the Springfield Catholic School board approved DeMelo on May 24.

DeMelo has been a teacher and administrator with Springfield Catholic Schools since 1997. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Providence College, a master’s degree in educational administration from Southwest Baptist University, and is working toward an doctorate in educational administration from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
