The QBS award is given to a government entity that makes an outstanding contribution to the advancement and improvement of the public health, safety and welfare through its efforts to select design consultants on the basis of their competence rather than solely by bid price. The airport was honored for the approach it used to select engineering consultants for a series of major projects, including the bus intermodal transfer and baggage claim facilities, 3,800 linear feet of runway extension, 5,400 linear feet of primary runway, a new Mid-Field Terminal facility and construction of a new general aviation airport in Ozark. |ret||ret||tab|
Director of Aviation Rob Hancik and Assistant Director Gary Cyr accepted the award, which was an engraved plaque and a cash stipend. The cash stipend will be used for a charitable organization. |ret||ret||tab|
