Springfield-Branson airport launches new Web site

Posted online
Springfield-Branson National Airport hopes some changes to its Web site will make traveling easier.

The airport debuted its redesigned Web site, flyspringfield.com, earlier this week. The redesign is an effort to “provide something that is sorely missing in the world of commercial aviation: customer service,” according to an airport news release.

The site includes several new and improved features, including a national map showing the location of inbound and outbound flights with flight numbers and approximate arrival and departure times.

Another new feature is daily arrival and departure information, with scheduled arrival and departure times as well as loading gate assignments.

“Having this information on an airport Web site is nothing new,” Kent Boyd, airport director of public information and marketing, said in the release. “What makes this noteworthy is that the data comes directly from airline corporate computers. That means that the information should be more accurate than it was on the old Web site.”

Boyd said the site also includes an airport blog “to provide answers and transparency” and an online trip-booking service.
