New state data indicates Springfield-area employers delivered a third of the new jobs in Missouri last month.
The data, which is not seasonally adjusted, show employers in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area added 1,400 jobs in November. That brings the MSA’s November nonfarm payroll ranks to 221,100 employees, up from 219,700 in October, according to a news release.
Missouri’s nonfarm payroll figure — not seasonally adjusted — rose by 4,200 jobs in November to roughly 2.9 million. Seasonally adjusted, Missouri’s nonfarm payroll ranks rose by 5,300 jobs in November; the Springfield MSA added 100 jobs with that same qualifier.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was flat at 3.1% in November. However, when not seasonally adjusted, Missouri’s jobless rate was up to 3% in November from 2.5% in October, according to the release.
