Reporter's Notebook: You know, there’s such a thing as pride in a job well done, but in “Ode on a Grecian Urn,” poet John Keats celebrates the state of being in the middle of things – as in an ancient depiction of a couple just before their first kiss, forever at their most beautiful, forever flush with anticipation: “She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss, / For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!” In our construction project report, we’ve stopped time for a chance to recognize 20 projects totaling more than 955,000 square feet, caught in the comparatively brief time before the office, ballpark, factory or highway stands complete. That sounds rather poetic to me. —Karen Craigo, Reporter
