Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective
Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is the architect and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for a 26,000-square-foot, two-story addition and renovation to the James River Church Youth south campus. Officials say features include a two-story atrium with an overlooking mezzanine, perimeter curtain wall glazing with operable overhead doors and in-floor radiant heating. Additional work includes the conversion of the existing gym/fitness center to a 700-seat youth auditorium with in-ground baptistry, half-court basketball gym, and office and workspace renovations. Exterior improvements include a pickleball court, covered pavilion spaces, new exterior plaza and a dedicated youth drop-off lane. Ross Construction Group LLC is the general contractor and additional engineering work is by Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; and Miller Engineering PC, structural. The project is slated for completion in July 2024.
