CJD Engineering LLC is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for the $13 million Springfield Sports Complex, a sports destination planned by SGF Sports LLC through a partnership with Philcrest Properties and L5 Sports Management & Consulting. The facility designed by H Design Group LLC is in northwest Springfield adjacent to Deer Lake Golf Course. Officials say the 81-acre sports complex will have up to 14 outdoor fields, as well as a 95,000-square-foot indoor facility featuring two soccer fields, two gymnasiums with four basketball courts/eight volleyball courts, a lounge, meeting rooms, offices and indoor/outdoor concessions. Another 24 acres of commercial acreage also is planned for development. On March 8, Springfield City Council agreed to cover up to $2.1 million for public infrastructure improvements at the site. A general contractor has yet to be determined. Additional engineering work is provided by Olsson Inc., civil and landscape; and J&M Engineering LLC, structural. The fields are scheduled to open this summer, with the indoor facility slated for completion in spring 2022.
Springfield event venue Belamour LLC gained new ownership; The Wok on West Bypass opened; and Hawk Barber & Shop closed on a business purchase that expanded its footprint to Ozark.
