Project description: Reliance Hotels LLC is building a five-story, 122-room Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel on 2 acres of Springfield’s Medical Mile. The hotel design features an indoor pool, fitness center, community spaces and two meeting rooms. BRP Architects is the project architect, and frankZ Design LLC is the landscape architect. Engineering work is provided by CJW Transportation Consultants LLC, civil; Bergmann Engineering Co. LLC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
The former Kmart store on the grounds of the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium is slated for demolition, according to a permit on file with the city of Springfield.
