Project description: Commander Financial Services, a provider of floor plan financing to used car dealers, is building a new office and a private athletic training center. Officials say 3,500 square feet will be dedicated to a new venture dubbed Commander Athletics, which will provide space for coaches to give private strength training and baseball instruction. Plans include two pitching lanes with assistive technology in the facility design. Hood-Rich Inc. is the project architect, with engineering work provided by Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
Under construction beside the existing Republic branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District – which remains in operation throughout the project – is a new building that will double the size of the original, according to library officials.
