Galloway Road widening
Luster to Lone Pine avenues
HDR Engineering Inc. is the civil engineer for a road-widening project on Galloway Road between Luster and Lone Pine avenues. The $5 million project was approved through a quarter-cent capital improvement sales tax. The city of Springfield hired HDR to extend the two-lane road to a three-lane roadway with a subsurface drainage system and roundabout. The drainage improvements will include adequately draining Luster Avenue, and at Lone Pine Avenue, a detention cell is being added to reduce intersection flooding and railroad track overtopping. The project also includes street lighting and an improved pedestrian connection to Sequiota Park and nearby greenway trails. A general contractor has not yet been selected for the project slated for completion by 2022.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
