Branco Enterprises Inc. of Neosho is the general project fro the Republic R-III School District’s 268,000-square-foot high school, which has an estimated cost of $31 million. Jack Ball & Associates is the architect and interior designer, and HBH Engineers LLC is the engineer. The school will have a three-story curving façade. Administrative offices will be on the first floor, with classrooms on the second and third levels of the school, which has been assigned a temporary city address. The façade includes modern adaptations of historic elements, such as colonnades and cornice. Spoke-like axial hallways will lead students throughout the school, with shared spaces aligned along the back of the building. Branco project manager Sean Thouvenot said crews are doing site work, including utilities, as well as footings and foundation. Also included in the project are new athletic facilities for softball, baseball and track, with provisionary facilities for football and soccer, and a new vocational-technical center.
