Spring 2008 Project Report: Heer's Car Park

Crews are putting the finishing touches on Heer’s Car Park, according to Jason Carson of general contractor Carson-Mitchell Inc. The 143,000-square-foot, city-funded $5.9 million parking deck should be finished by mid-May. Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc. is the architect for the five-story structure, which will provide 375 downtown parking spaces. Engineers are Anderson Engineering Inc., civil; Kansas City-based Bob D. Campbell & Co. Inc., structural; and Malone Finkle Eckhardt & Collins Inc., mechanical and electrical. Walker Parking Consultants also consulted on the project. The city is using several sources, including level property tax funds, transportation sales tax funds and special obligation bonds, to pay for Heer’s Car Park.
