Larry Krauck served as interim director since 2004, when the commission’s last full-time director, Brad Eldridge, left to work in real estate. Krauck left May 25 to serve as special events director with the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theatre in Branson.
Krauck also was sports sales manager at the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau, which manages the commission. An offer has been made to a candidate for that position as well, according to CVB Public Relations Manager Susan Wade.
In other sports commission and CVB news, the two have signed a contractual management agreement for the CVB to continue managing the commission.
The contract specifies that the CVB will provide an office for the commission’s director and handle its day-to-day operations. The CVB will receive $1,250 per month.
The one-year contract begins July 1 and automatically renews annually unless either party ends the agreement by March 31 of each year.
The commission’s board of directors recently approved a 2007-08 budget of $108,850.
See SBJ’s June 11 issue for more on the CVB and its plans for 2007-08.
