Sport Clips store set to open in Republic

Georgetown, Texas-based Sport Clips Haircuts is expanding to Republic with a store set to open this month.

A March 27 opening date is scheduled for the 545 E. Elm St. store in the Town Center Plaza shopping center. A news release announcing the opening lists Andrea Roland as the store owner.

"Sport Clips has been an established hair care option for men and boys since 1993, and we’re excited to grow our presence in this market," Roland said in the release. "We’re proud to be a part of Republic’s retail community."

The Republic store becomes the eighth location in the Springfield area, according to the company's website. The company has around 1,900 locations in the United States and Canada.

Jared Commercial & Management LLC announced the planned Sport Clips location in Republic in a recent post on LinkedIn. A property brochure from Jared Commercial indicates the Sport Clips spot is adjacent to Village Inn on the south end of Town Center Plaza.

The space previously housed a Black Lab Coffee Co. shop. The coffee shop moved last year to 1037 E. Township St. in Republic.
