Splenda owner sues Dunkin' Donuts

Splenda owner Heartland Consumer Products filed suit against Dunkin' Brands Inc.

The company alleges Dunkin' Donuts has misled customers into thinking they are using real Splenda when it's actually a knockoff.

The two companies ended their business relationship in April. Heartland claims the the packaging of the off-brand product Dunkin' uses now is similar to Splenda's.

The suit also claims Dunkin' employees tell customers that Dunkin' uses Splenda products.
