St. Louis-based gas utility company Spire has inked a $2.5 billion acquisition deal.
The company agreed to buy Piedmont Natural Gas, a subsidiary of North Carolina-based Duke Energy.
Piedmont is the largest investor-owned gas utility in Tennessee.
