The superintendent of the Sparta School District is headed to the Ozark School District.
Landon Gray is scheduled to start July 1 as the Ozark district's executive director of finance and business services, according to a news release. He'll succeed Robert Hedgecorth, who is resigning at the end of the school year due to family reasons.
“While we are saddened to see Dr. Hedgecorth leave, we are confident that Dr. Gray’s strong qualifications, passion for education and commitment to student success make him an excellent successor,” Ozark Superintendent Lori Wilson said in the release. “Dr. Gray has deep expertise in financial strategy and operational leadership. We believe he will bring the vision and experience needed to help guide our organization toward sustainable growth and long-term success."
Gray's appointment to the role was given the nod by the Ozark School District Board of Education at its April 17 meeting.
With more than 20 years of education experience, Gray has served as Sparta School District superintendent since 2021.
“I am honored to join Ozark schools as the executive director of finance and business services and support its strong tradition of academic excellence,” Gray said in the release. “I look forward to working with Superintendent Dr. Lori Wilson and other district leaders to ensure sound financial practices that benefit our students, staff and community.”
