SpaceX sued for $20M over fatal auto accident

A Texas family filed suit against SpaceX after the death of a family member in a car crash near the company's launch facility.

The Venegas family of San Benito filed suit for $20 million in damages. The lawsuit alleges SpaceX is liable for the crash due to gross negligence. The suit alleges SpaceX did not properly equip and update the highway to account for heavy-duty and constant use.

Husband and father Carlos Javier Venegas, 35, was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler that was stalled outside the launch facility.
