SpaceX plans new launch

After discovering the the cause of an explosion that destroyed a rocket and satellite on a Florida launch pad in September, SpaceX plans to relaunch flights as early as Jan. 8.

The company's investigation of the Sept. 1 explosion revealed a tank failed within the larger, second-stage liquid oxygen tank.

During its next flight, SpaceX plans to launch 10 satellites for Iridium Communications Inc. on a Falcon 9 rocket. Iridium would use the satellites to provide mobile communications on land, sea and air.
