With Allen Casey as principal and Cynthia Lipscomb as project manager, The Casey Associates is the architect for Russ and Jan Meck’s Southwood Properties’ condominium development at 1243 E. Cherry St. Bob D. Campbell & Co. is the structural engineer, and LaRose & Schober is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. A general contractor has not yet been selected for the project, which comprises a 66,000-square-foot condominium building and an 11,000-square-foot parking structure. The estimated cost is $6 million, with an estimated completion date of spring 2007. The project is a mixed-use building designed for urban living in a historic residential neighborhood. On the first floor, 6,500 square feet of commercial space will be available for retail shops, a fitness center and a restaurant. There also will be a 1,500-square-foot partially covered courtyard patterned after Pickwick Place. The second through seventh floors each will have six two-bedroom condominium units. The eighth floor will have an outdoor deck for building tenants and a larger penthouse condominium with a private outdoor deck.
