Southwest to end cabin service earlier

Southwest Airlines announced it would end cabin service earlier on flights in an effort to better protect crew members and passengers.

Flight attendants now will start preparing the cabin for landing at an altitude of 18,000 feet. That's a change from 10,000 feet.

Company officials said the change would "reduce the risk of in-flight turbulence injuries."
