Posted online
General contractors: Boldt Construction (Wisconsin), Cherne Contracting Corp. (Minnesota), Alberici Constructors Co. (St. Louis) and Sachs Electric Co. (Fenton)
Architect: Stanley Consultants (Iowa)
Engineer: Stanley Consultants
Estimated cost: $697.1 million

Crews are on pace to complete City Utilities second unit at the power station in late 2010, according to Joel Alexander, CU communications manager. The $697.1 million project is financed through 30-year bonds that customers will begin repaying in October, according to previous Springfield Business Journal coverage. The 94,000-square-foot, 300-megawatt facility will supplement CU’s existing power-generation capabilities, and emissions will be reduced through features such as air-pollution and mercury controls.[[In-content Ad]]
