Students from throughout southwest Missouri had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at their possible careers.

175 high school students spent Feb. 2 with business or professional people, learning about career interests as part of the Groundhog Day job-shadowing program at Crowder Community College.

Participating were students from Joplin, Exeter, Lamar, Monett, Neosho, Seneca and Webb City school districts.

Fifty-one professions were represented, including conservation, medicine, accounting, business, education and manufacturing.
