Scholastic, the world's largest publisher of children's books, announced earlier this month its plans to open a customer service center in Neosho.
The company will employ about 120 full-time and part-time customer service representatives when it opens this August.
A company spokesman said Scholastic plans to increase employment to as much as 350 within the next few years.
Anyone interested in working for the company should apply by the middle of July. The average starting wage will be $6 an hour.
The company will operate during the school year, September to May, and will offer discounts to teachers in Neosho and nearby communities.
Scholastic bought the former IGA supermarket building on West Harmony Street, which comprises 20,000 square feet.
Neosho is the company's second customer service center in the state, the first one being in Moberly, where the employee base has increased from 80 to more than 200 in the last three years.
