Located at 885 Highway 60 in Monett, a Wal-Mart Supercenter officially opened for business May 20.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, $500 was donated to the United Way, and a presentation was made to the Monett Senior Citizens, a local nonprofit organization.
The store is 149,000 square feet and will be open 24 hours a day. It features 36 general merchandise departments, including a complete apparel department with accessories; a jewelry department; lawn and garden center; a full-line electronics department; a pharmacy; and a health and beauty department.
The grocery area includes frozen foods, dairy, meat and fresh produce.
The store also offers a Smart Style Hair Salon, First State Bank, vision center, one-hour photo lab, lube express and the Radio Grill restaurant.
Wal-Mart has had a presence in the Monett retail marketplace for the past 26 years.
