The city of Lamar is looking to expand by way of an industrial park.

The city applied for a Community Development Block Grant to construct buildings which would lure new businesses and industries to the area.

Officials plan to build a 24,000-square-foot building behind Wal-Mart, which will rest on a 70-acre tract and is expected to cost nearly $350,000.
