by Carol Harris, Branson area, and Mary Engler-Guccione, Joplin area

A popular Joplin restaurant shut its doors Jan. 3, leaving its owner to pursue other business opportunities.

Butcher's Block owner Dee Dannelley closed the restaurant in order to become the full-time manager at the Iron Horse Restaurant, a Range Line business in which he has part ownership. He will continue to operate the Butcher's Block catering service out of the Butcher's Block Banquet Center, 3316 Main St.

Butcher's Block manager JoAnn Tesh and chef Dennis Wawra will also move to the Iron Horse.
