In a recent Industry Week magazine survey, Joplin is ranked among the nation's top 100 cities for success in manufacturing and attracting new businesses.
Kansas City ranked 10th, while St. Louis came in 12th.
The cities were ranked as world-class manufacturing communities, which the magazine defines as "highly productive cities able to attract new manufacturers and encourage expansions of existing ones."
