The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee recognized several Joplin businesses for their part in making the city look better.
Wall Street Antiques, 710 S. Wall Street, received the March Beautify Joplin Award for its renovation, restoration and adaptive reuse of the building.
World Securities Inc., at 517 Main St., received the honor for April for its landscaping. And the third award went to First State Bank, 802 Main St. for its landscaping efforts.
This monthly award goes to chamber businesses and residences that beautify their property through landscaping or remodeling.
Main Street Joplin names new director
Brian Marlow has been named the new director for Main Street Joplin.
Marlow replaces Wendi Kelly, former Main Street director.
Marlow was director of special events marketing and tourism development for the Broken Arrow, Okla., Chamber of Commerce.
He was also executive director of the Main Street program in Miami, Okla.
