An area bank has sold its corporate trust business to the Bank of New York.
Mercantile Bancorporation Inc., of St. Louis, made the deal late last month. The sale involves the trust operation the company took over when it acquired Mark Twain Bancshares Inc. last year.
Mercantile, which has banking operations in southwest Missouri, is a $30 billion multibank holding company.
