The 77th annual convention of the Missouri Federation of Business and Professional Women was slated to be held April 24-26 in Joplin.

Employer of the Year and Woman of the Year awards were presented during the two-day event.

Workshops and election of the coming year's officers were also held.

Also, Operation Sweatsuit began.

Those attending the convention were asked to donate new sweatsuits to be collected for distribution to women staying in shelters in southwest Missouri.
