A Joplin craft store is changing its location to obtain more space.
Hobby Lobby Creative Center of Joplin is moving from its current location in the Northpoint Center at Seventh and Rangeline Road and reopening in the former Payless Cashways building at 1315 Rangeline.
The Payless building has been vacant for more than a year since the company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The new location will offer about 60,000 square feet, almost twice the amount of space at the current location.
That is the average size of other Hobby Lobby stores in the Oklahoma City-based chain.
Right now, the store employs 20 full-time and 20 part-time employees. Those numbers could more than double once more products are added to the new location's inventory.
