St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, was recently awarded a check from some of its own volunteers.

The St. John's Auxiliary presented the hospital with a check for $25,000.

The donation will go toward medical needs in the operating rooms, recovery rooms and post-surgical and medical nursing units.

In 1997-98, the auxiliary donated a total of $110,000 to the hospital.
