The construction business looks good for the Joplin area.
The F.W. Dodge Division of McGraw-Hill reports building contracts for the Joplin metropolitan area are on the rise.
The rise comes in Newton and Jasper counties, and centers on non-residential areas of the market.
Non-residential contracts for last month were up 55 percent from the previous year.
Contracts in this area have increased by more than 60 percent over last year, totaling more than $88 million in worth.
