The health care field is on the cutting edge of healing where incisions and cuts are concerned.

St. John's Regional Medical Center, in Joplin, is now using a new liquid topical skin adhesive to close lacerations and incisions, taking the place of stitches, staples or skin strips.

The Food and Drug Administration in August approved the adhesive, called Dermabond.

Some physicians believe this new "adhesive" has the potential to revolutionize the way they treat simple cuts.
