KIXQ-FM, a country music station, lassoed 27.3 percent of area radio listeners, according to the fall 1998 survey released by Arbitron, a private company that ranks radio stations.
KIXQ, located at 102.5 on the FM dial, is owned by Zimmer Radio Group. The second spot was claimed by another Zimmer station, KSYN, a contemporary hit station at 92.5 FM.

Under construction beside the existing Republic branch of the Springfield-Greene County Library District – which remains in operation throughout the project – is a new building that will double the size of the original, according to library officials.
