Harry Mack Cornell is the recipient of the Richard M. Webster Citizen of the Year Award, presented recently by the Carthage Chamber of Commerce.

Cornell is chief executive officer of Leggett & Platt Inc., a Fortune 500 company with headquarters in Carthage.

Other awards presented by the Carthage chamber included the Athena Award, for excellence in business and service to the community, which went to Joyce Rogler, owner of Century 21 Real Estate.

The Small Business of the Year award was presented to Ruth Kolpin and Southwest Missouri Cable Television. The Artists' Recognition Award was presented to Andy Thomas. The Sam Walton Community Leadership Award was presented to Dorothy Green of Poor Richard's and Greenwood Brothers' Plastering Co.
