County officials say they have outgrown their offices and are looking to a bank for more space.

The county commission plans to buy the NationsBank building on the northwest corner of the Carthage square.

The second floor would be used for county offices, allowing all the county employees to work together. Currently, because of cramped conditions, some county employees are forced to work in the courthouse basement.

The Trammell-Crow Real Estate Co. of Kansas City is handling the sale.
