Carthage will be getting another bank.
Hometown Bancshares Inc. announced earlier this month it has received the go-ahead from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish the bank.
The Hometown Bank, N.A., will be located at 312 W. Central. It will be the first new bank to open in the city in nearly 20 years and will employ 19 people.
A temporary bank will be set up on-site by May and will be used until the
actual building is completed, officials said.
