The Carthage Chamber of Commerce has received recognition in a national contest.
The chamber received a certificate of recognition as a regional finalist in the Prettiest Painted Places in America Competition.
The Rohm and Haas Paint Quality Institute sponsors the competition.
Carthage was selected from more than 300 entries and was named a top-five finalist in the south central region.
Carthage was chosen because it met certain criteria in the contest, including overall aesthetic appeal, condition of painted homes and the blend of paint colors with the architecture and the natural surroundings.
