They may be a dying breed, but there is still one drive-in movie theater that is alive and well.
In April, the 66 Drive-In in Carthage held a grand reopening with a film-cutting ceremony. The drive-in will offer features throughout the summer.
Meanwhile, Joplin's drive-in will not reopen this summer, having been purchased by the Wal-Mart Corporation.
The former drive-in will be the site of another Wal-Mart supercenter.
