The Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) has named Debbie Redford, environmental specialist for the city of Branson, Professional Conservationist of the Year for 1997.
According to the city of Branson, Redford was chosen for the award because of her role in organizing and implementing the Environmental Excellence Challenge in the Branson area.
The program has 58 participants to date, including businesses, schools and churches who have adopted sound environmental practices.
Gerald Ranney of Kirbyville, a district director for the CFM, nominated Redford for the award. The CFM is a not-for-profit environmental organization which began in Missouri 60 years ago and has a membership of more than 28,000.
