The Lake Country Boys & Girls Club is still seeking commercial and individual funding for operating expenses and to complete its new building just north of Branson.

According to Cris Blake, treasurer and executive board member of the club, the recent media attention given to a large pledge by entertainer Kirby VanBurch has caused other contributions to cease. In a news release, Blake stated that the club is in immediate need of $25,000 for operating expenses.

She said the club encountered a financial setback due to more than $30,000 in extra costs for changes to the new club building that were required by inspectors.
