The city of Branson reported that, during a goal-setting retreat, its Board of Aldermen established major goals in the categories of environment, transportation and customer service.
The board pledged to work closely with other cities and environmental groups to improve the water quality of area lakes and to educate the public on ways to prevent water pollution.
The board decided to keep pressure on the Missouri Department of Transportation to complete the four-lane project of U.S. Highway 65 before the year 2000. The board will also continue the push to have a Branson inset on the official state highway road maps.
The board announced it will also establish a program called "Through the Customers' Eyes" that will assist residents and visitors in conducting city business, getting quick answers to concerns and receiving information as conveniently as possible.
