Economic indicators reported by the city of Branson show healthy growth during the first half of the year.

?Revenue from the city's 1.5 percent sales tax increased 5 percent during the fiscal year from October 1997 to April 1998.

?Tourism tax revenue for January through April rose 6 percent over last year for the ?New construction values for the first six months of 1998 are up $9 million over the same months in 1997.

?The Taney County unemployment rate was 5.5 percent in June, down from 8.6 percent in May.
