Silver Dollar City has received The Applause Award, the most prestigious award within the amusement and theme park industry. The Branson-area theme park received the news Nov. 18 at the Dallas convention of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
The award is one of "general excellence" presented every two years through Amusement magazine and the award's creator, Liseberg Amusement Park in Sweden. During the two-year judging process, factors for the award included Silver Dollar City's five world-class special events, creative attractions and entertainment shows, food selection, unique turn-of-the-century crafts colony, the innovative 1999 ride concept BuzzSaw Falls and the friendliness of SDC employees.
Kennywood, in West Mifflin, Pa., and Parc Asterix, in Plailly, France, were also finalists for the award.

Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
