The Downtown Branson Betterment Association reported that its membership is growing it has 132 members, up from 85 a year ago. The DBBA has also been approved for NAP credits by the Missouri Department of Economic Development for 1999.

According to Downtown, the DBBA's newsletter, Ozark Mountain Bank and First Community Bank, both of Branson, have created a low-interest loan pool for local building owners to finance facade renovations and improvements. Building owners can borrow up to $20,000 for a four-year period.

Owners were urged by the association's design committee to submit their plans to the committee to evaluate for compatibility with the downtown building design plan developed in 1992.
